Since 1796 and for more than 200 years since, ScanRope has played an important part in the development of Norwegian maritime industry and has had a particularly close relationship with the country's large merchant fleet with ScanRope Marine being the business unit having principal responsibility for this activity nowadays.

As a result of exposure to the global operations of Scandinavian ship-owners & managers contact and sales with other businesses of a similar nature in other countries soon followed with the result that ScanRope Marine's rope products are now utilised very successfully and in significant quantities all over the world.

The company has long pioneered new materials and processes and promotes many brand products which enjoy a very good standing and reputation amongst seafarers aboard all manner of different marine vessels for their robustness, reliability and versatility.
