SeaOcean Hi-Vis^© Tugger Winch Wire has been developed with a view to overcoming a potential source of danger on the drill floor of oil rigs where the use of such winches is common place during normal operational tasks.

Accidents to personnel and damage to equipment has occurred in the past, chiefly where lighting conditions have been less than ideal, when it has not been appreciated that the Hoist Wire on the Tugger Winch was actually moving - this creates the potential for an object or person to strike or come into contact with the moving rope, which obviously constitutes a significant and unacceptable hazard.

Brightly coloured SeaOcean Hi-Vis^© Tugger Winch Wire seeks to overcome this risk by providing the personnel working with or near the winch with a visual clue as to whether it’s running or not.



SeaOcean Hi-Vis^© Tugger Winch Wire can be supplied either as a solid colour or in a striped version where different strands are painted alternatively with a different colour, which helps the product stand out even under poor or artificial light conditions.

SeaOcean Hi-Vis^© Tugger Winch Wire has already been recognized by the North Sea Chapter of the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) for its contribution to offshore safety and work is continuing to enhance the product’s performance in terms of the luminosity and durability of the coloured finish.
